30 schools were invited to take part in the competition, with one entry each. The participants selected could be boys or girls in the 10th grade. The topic was presented in the morning. Entrants had time to research the topic using electronic equipment like their phones or laptops. They then got to write (without the electronic equipment) in Shantiniketan style conditions either under awnings in the back gardens or in the library.
A shortlist of five essays was drawn up by Campion English department and sent to illustrious judges to choose a winner.
The judges: authors, Twinkle Khanna, Rajdeep Sardesai and Times of India Editor, Namita Devidayal had a tough time choosing the winner.
The winner Anya Choudhary, from Vibgyor School, received a one lakh rupee cash prize, and bumper gift hampers from co-sponsors, William Penn, and Araku Coffee and Borosil.
She was awarded at a glittering ceremony in the Tagore Hall, the same evening at Campion.
